- Experience: Capstone was founded in 2003 and is the pioneer for advanced education for Hong Kong’s talented youth; we were the first center to provide enrichment courses focused on Critical Thinking development and have been perfecting it ever since. Many other centers are now just starting to teach “similar” courses, but are still experimenting with the “right” way when our track record already shows the effectiveness of our programs.
- Track Record: Most of our students transfer or graduate successfully to leading US/UK boarding schools and universities. Capstone students represent and lead school debate teams and Model United Nations teams from various Hong Kong schools. Within every major Hong Kong academic competition involving debating, public speaking or writing, there are usually a number of Capstone students amongst the champions and top placers. No other education program in Hong Kong comes even close to the total number of award winners and the "success percentage" (students that won based on the students that entered) as Capstone . Consider that in the 2011/2012 academic year's two HKSDC Junior Debate Championships (the biggest debate tournaments for students between 6th to 9th grade), Capstone had 2 of the 3 best new speakers, 4 of the top 10 speakers in one tournament (including three of the top five places) and 6 of the top 15 speakers in the other tournament, and nearly all the members of the champion team of one tournament. What's more, nearly all Capstone students that participated in one of these two tournaments were ranked as top speakers or received notable awards.
- Teachers: Every teacher graduated from a top US university and is employed full-time at Capstone. Many competitors list numerous instructors, but many of those are part-time instructors who place priority with their own full-time pursuits. We believe it is important that teachers' first commitment is to the students they serve.
- Environment: Students at Capstone are typically among the top students at their schools (most of which are usually top international and local primary and secondary schools). Teachers are intentionally chosen for their friendliness – in addition to their achievements. Every classroom is designed in a conference/meeting room layout and encourages communication amongst students and teachers. Everyone who has studied at Capstone will tell you it does not feel like any other education center.
