Reading & Vocabulary

Overview

This course is designed for students committed to long-term preparation towards the SCAT, SSAT, SAT, and ACT exams. The Reading Comprehension (and Analogies section for the SSAT) section is often the lowest scoring section for students so this program addresses this weakness by developing the foundational skills in reading and vocabulary, the two components that form the Reading Comprehension section. Teachers will guide students to read the “right” way for standardized exams, improve speed and accuracy in completing the associated questions, and increase vocabulary by ~25 new words per lesson. In class, instructors will rotate a variety of reading and vocabulary development activities while using a mixture of actual/mock tests and custom resources.
