I learned to say my address in Cantonese when I moved to Hong Kong so I could get home in a taxi. However, I frequently say it incorrectly and I have to try other ways of communicating: landmarks, repetition, Google maps. There is always a chance that the driver will shake his head, laugh at me, throw me out, or take me to the wrong side of the island, but accepting that I might fail and trying anyway allows me to survive, grow, and even thrive. I have to take a risk to accomplish the task. In education this is imminently relevant.
